Just an Opinion (But it's all mine!)

Like the title says: Just an Opinion (But it's all mine!). No one else's, raw, uncut, maybe unsettling to some. If you are unsettled by mine, good. Research, learn, self-educate and form your own.

Originally from The Canal Zone, I moved to the US in 1985 and later joined the Army. Most of my Army time was overseas with the exceptiongof my last two assignments. Recently retired, I now work in computer networking and security related fields. Pretty much same stuff I was doing in the Army with better pay!

Time: At Guantanamo, Dying Is Not Permitted

Time: At Guantanamo, Dying Is Not Permitted

3mm feeding tubes? They should be using 9mm tubes!

As an immigrant to the US of A, a former prisoner, and a retired soldier of 20+ years of service, I am appalled by the treatment these criminals are getting while at Gitmo and in our courts.

In my opinion, Gen. Bantz Craddock, Rear Adm. Harry Harris, Jr., Col Mike Bumgarner and all of their men are doing a bang up job keeping these criminals from making false martyrs of themselves. They are dealers of death to anyone who does not bow to their twisted
beliefs [more on the twisted later]. It is the duty of the men, doctors and staff to make sure their goals are not furthered. If this means force feeding them to keep them alive, so be it. If it means using "unpleasant means" to persuade them to stop their actions, so be it. If they don't like the treatments, the solution is simple; EAT when you are told to.

These hunger strikes are an act of "asymmetric warfare" and must be dealt with accordingly. Padded chair and all. Our soldiers and commanders have a duty to keep them alive at all costs. These terrorists are not soldiers deserving of rights under the
Geneva Conventions. They are killers, following power hungry leaders hiding behind a perversion of the teachings of Islam. And their mission is to use and twist our laws and moral convictions against us, in furtherance of that goal. They know our public is weak. That dying for their cause will result in liberal out cry and sympathy. They speak of a system of rights, which they do not honor and wish to destroy. They use bleeding heart liberals to champion their cause. When the truth of the matter is, they are being very well maintained at a high cost. Hunger strikes are nothing more than a tool to weaken public resolve and to draw attention to themselves. They aren't poor things far from home suffering from depression. They are warriors who have chosen a path and using any tool at their disposal to further that path.

As for their "twisted beliefs". Learn a little bit about
Islam and the differences between mainline Shi'a and Sunni. Then look at what the radicals from both sides are doing. It will open your eyes more to what we are dealing with. Most think it is like Catholics vs Protestant as we saw Ireland, but it is not. They and their differences are more closely related. An easy way to look at it is [as an example], Dominicans taking up arms against Jesuits. It is that closely related. Then bring in the radicals who are infighting each other, battling their parent orders, and anyone considered an infidel (non-Islamic). The five pillars of Islam do not support these beliefs and by extension, do not support these criminals.

So the next time you feel sympathy for the inmates at Gitmo, remember that they would like nothing more than to come into your home and slit your throat on their perverted path to Heaven.
